Pity and weeping?

logo

I started this blog because over the past few months I have been really discovering myself. After 13 years I am slowly finding the true me. I decided to get really serious about getting out of debt. Since I fell in love with blogging, I figured a blog would be the perfect way to finally hold myself accountable. I love the fact that by using a blog, I can keep a record of how I am changing and growing on my journey of getting out of debt.

I thought it would be fun to post what I made for dinner so I could compare prices and such. The dinner posts only reflect 1 week so far.  So imagine my surprise when I found a post about the dinners I cook. Someone is starting a group to harass me because she thinks I am not being a good mother and this blog is for pity. I am not the perfect mom but it does not mean I am not a good mom. I love my kids very much and stay at home to be there for them. If you don’t like my dinner selections, why not offer some recipes? If you have some frugal advice, please share. I really believe moms should try to help each other, because some of us do not know all that we need to and still are learning. I am open to all advice and suggestions. I will almost try anything once:) My children are happy and well taken care of and what I cook doesn’t really factor in. As parents, my husband and I chose to pick our battles.

This is why blogging is good. Everyone can have thier own opinions. Have a great day!

Im very sorry that they made that vile post about your blog. I came across your blog yesterday after googling saving tickers and I love what you are doing with the menu.

One cheap and easy recipe I make is mixing rice, frozen mixed vegies and some soy sauce to make homemade fired rie and when that is cooked, mix through a tin of tuna.

Not only is it cheap, its very healthy for you as you get your protein and omega oils (tuna), carbs which will fill you up (rice) and vegies.

You may be able to set your blog up for comments filtering, especially if that group does decide to bash your blog en masse.

Hope that helps, and I hope you don’t mind that I’m going to add you to my blogroll!

Vile, eh? Everyone is offering help with budgeting, planning and cooking. How vile is that?

  5. Melanie says:

Vile in they were bashing it first then offered support.
Why start a group there and not offer support directly via this blog?

Melanie, Shelby and Orit thanks for the support.Sometimes it is hard dealing with bad money decisions, but doing this blog is keeping me motivated and it’s a lot cheaper than therapy.I decided I did not want to hear anymore from judithgr. She’s a little too pushy for me so I blocked her from commenting.

  7. Funny – many of my meals look just like yours. My wife and I both work full time and the meals are my responsibility. (She does the laundry). I find I’m running out of imagination.

No pics, but the lat good meal was a piece of fillet of salmon (about $6, fresh from Costco) wrapped with sesame flavored soysauce in tin foil. 350F about 30 minutes, serve over rice and peas, stir fried. I try to make a pot of rice late Sunday for the fridge, and use it in a meal during the week. For you, this approach can help buy you time during the week, by prepping some parts of a meal in advance while making another dinner. This can lower your stress level during the week. For what it’s worth, any mom who wonders if she’s a good mom, already is. The bad parents don’t think about it.

Thanks for the kind words. I need to plan my meals in advance. That seems like it would be the best plan for my family.
