Am I just looking for a fight?

I was up the other night, suffering from insomnia so I decided to drop some Entrecards. Since the prices of ads went up, I have to work a little harder to afford to advertise on my favorites. But that is a argument for another day. Anyways, I went to drop a card a at site called Happy Family Matters. Now I am one of those people that likes to skim the posts at sites I drop (that is why it takes me forever to save up any credits, I spend too much time reading and not enough time dropping)! Well there was a post that caught my eye, How to convince your husband to allow you to work. After reading that post I was ready to have a fit. I could not get past the allow part. I am Christian and love my husband very much. I understand he is the king of this household and I have a great deal of repect for him. He is not controlling and never has been. Even if he was one of those types that controlled everything, I can not see myself letting someone “allow” me to do anything. I am a grown woman with 4 children. I do not live under my parents’ roof anymore and I was just going on and on in my head. I could not wait to go and leave a comment. But first I read the other comments. I then understood the post much better. It is not about me as a wife doing everything my husband says. It is about mutual respect for each other. In our marriage, as in so many other relationships, we ask each other permission to do a variety of different things. I think castocreations said it best ” I don’t “obey” my husband but when he really has a strong opinion about something that affects us both I will yield to his wishes. I’m not giving anything of myself up. It’s not about domination. It’s respect. And love. Because he does the same thing when I am adamant about something.” I guess you really do learn something every day. I don’t mind being the student.
