And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching Good Luck Chuck with my hubby tomorrow my plans include washing and styling hair, do a little cooking with Nannah, and playing some Wii with the family. Hopefully a little golf and some darts and Sunday, I want to deep clean my bedroom and one of the kids room!

Let’s see, with the rising costs of um everything, I am constantly searching for even more ways to save money. These are some suggestions my husband has come across that I would love to share.

  • When you call to make a appointment, ask for an estimate of what the costs may be for your visit.
  • If certain charges are not covered by insurance, ask for a discount. You will be surprised at how many doctors will actually work with you. I used to work for one.
  • Explain to your doctor if prescriptions cost too much for you, he/she may have samples. All you have to do is ask.
  • Ask what procedures may be performed during your visit. Then double check with your insurance company to see if those procedures are covered.
  • Some insurance companies have “nurse lines”. Call the nurse and discuss whether you need to go to the doctor or not. I have started using ours. We have had it for years, I never paid it much attention.
  • If you need to see a doctor right away, but it is not life threatening, consider going to urgent care instead of the emergency room. Most times urgent care will be cheaper, especially if you have an emergency room co-pay.
  • When you get prescriptions, make sure you ask about the generics as a option. I have been doing this for the last few months and it makes a huge difference!
  • Usually insurance plans cover annual physicals. Make sure to keep up them. Preventive care can save you tons!!
  • Keep in mind where you get your prescriptions. Places like Walmart offer a majority of prescriptions as low as $4 !!

If you have any suggestions, please share. I love tips on saving money!

Well we had to break down and get one. A new vacuum, finally. My other vacuum has been broken for about 2 weeks. The belt kept breaking, the filters were a headache, and it would shut off after 5 to 10 minutes of use. Plus it was heavy!! I mean really heavy. It would not even suck right anymore. So DH went to Target to get us another one because I could not take not having one any more. I had to gotten to the point where I was sweeping the carpet in the kids room (real old school). Of course the kids were amazed that a broom could do that. Boy do my arms hurt!!

I am in love with this new one. It is super light. The kids took turns lifting it. The cord is the longest I have ever seen. The suction is amazing. It even got up the moon sand that was embedded into my daughter’s carpet. The best part is it goes from carpet to hardwood floors with no problem. I do not have to stop and turn any buttons or anything. I am really surprised at how cheap it was. Only $39!!!!

I am so happy to be able to vacuum. And boy did I go vacuum crazy!! For some reason I like to vacuum. Something about seeing the dirt that is sucked up into the canister. I used to be the same way with carpet cleaners. I would run to my husband and go “look how dirty this is” a million times. I know, weird.

Only one bad thing, the hose that is used for crevices and such is really short. I am really used to much longer ones but I can deal with it.
