Almost everyone has heard about the mortgage crisis and the whole adjusted rate mess. Of course homeowners are the obvious victims. A lot of people are losing their homes because their mortgage payments are going up and they can not afford them. What caught me by surprise is how much this is affecting renters too. I never thought about the people who are landlords over one or multiple properties. If these properties are foreclosed on what about the tenants? Across the United States thousands of renters are innocent victims of the mortgage crisis. The really sad part is a majority of renters are being evicted by the sheriff and losing their security deposits. These are not even people who are bad tenants. A lot of them pay their rent on time every month. The whole thing is scary to me. We own our home and sometimes I wonder if it would just be easier to sell the house and start renting but that is not even secure.
