Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

Today’s question is:
When are you putting up your decorations and do you do a fake tree or a real one?
We usually put our decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year since the hubby is working the weekends I am aiming for Monday. We used to do the real trees but they made too much of a mess. A few years ago my husband found a beautiful fake tree for $20!

  2. We do not celebrate Christmas. We will likely put up our Chanukah decorations (not too many) the weekend before Chanukah begins.

Actually we’re going to do it later today. I have a fake tree due to the allergy sufferers in my home! I miss real trees.

We are putting ours up today – hubby is fluffing the artificial tree right now. Allergies do not allow us to have a real one anymore either.

Fake tree due to allergies. And no decorations will go up until at least December 20 — the first day of my vacation. I can’t stand having all that stuff clutter up my house for too long. I generally decorate shortly before Xmas and then leave the decorations up until New Year’s. As a general rule, New Year’s Eve is the last night the tree is lit. We stay home, cook prime rib, and enjoy a quiet evening.
