Always tell

This short statement seems so easy to say. Even easier to think. But I don’t think enough young people know how powerful this statement is. I was sitting here watching Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is and it really got me to thinking. Keyshia’s sister, Neffie, was talking to young girls about sex and abuse. The statement Always Tell was spoken and it just stuck in my mind. I have experienced some things in my life that I never told. I was either too scared or ashamed. I never felt it was ok to tell. I sometimes wonder how my life would be different if I did just tell. I would never want any of my children to go through the things I have experienced. It something was to ever happen to them I would want them to tell me. Tell their dad, tell someone they can trust, just tell. I think this is why I am so honest and blunt with my children. Especially about sex. It is so important to for me that my children can talk to me about anything. I want them to have the right information about any and everything. I am not sure if that makes sense. I am just rambling I guess. I just love them so much and my desire to protect them is overwhelming.
