The great ladies of MomDot have started a fun meme. It is called Small Talk Six. This is a meme where you can make a short or eleborate post in response to the assigned topic of the week. You can respond to each topic with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs or 6 photographs. This sounds fun, so here I go.
This week’s topic is: 6 things that never fail to make you smile
1. My kids playing together having fun and laughing
2. A great bargain (like the martha stewart fleece blankets I got for $1 each)
3. A unexpected hug from one of my kids
4. When I get a chance to sleep in
5. A glass of strawberry lemonade
6. Watching a movie with my husband uninterrupted
Thanks to Mama’s Money Savers, I found out about the free business cards at MarketSplash. You have to use a credit card to prevent fraud. I had no problem placing an order and my total came up to $0. What a great deal!!
It finally happened. Jazz got a virus on her laptop. And it was a bad one! She got her laptop around June of last year and recently she has started letting her brother and sisters use it. Not a good idea. Since Kayla has learned how to read she has a tendency to click on anything that says “You Won” or “Click here”. The virus was so bad I had to put her laptop back to the condition it was when we first bought it. She lost all her music, pics and videos. I feel so bad for her. I was the one who told her to be nice and let them use it. So I fixed her computer but blocked everything and it can be a pain. I was so happy when I heard about Kidzui. It is safe internet for kids. You know I had to try it out for myself. I downloaded it onto my computer with no problems. It has a parent center so you can add each of your children so they can use the internet. You get to make avatars (we love making avatars). I am able to see everything they do while online. I am only using the free version but I like what Kidzui has to offer. The kids still have access to the internet but it is all preapproved content. I really tested it out and tried typing in some words that would expose my kids to inappropriate content. Nothing popped up except a sentence saying “no webpage found”. That is great!! My kids were still able to access some of their favorite sites including disneykids.com and cartoonnetwork.com. They even discovered some new ones. I love that my kids don’t have to search far and wide for something they are looking for. There is so much to do on Kidzui your kids won’t even miss the “regular internet”. Kidzui is definitely something that parents should have on their computers. It is easy to set up and even easier to use. I am thinking about becoming a member so my kids can have access to all the extra stuff Kidzui offers.
Well Jazz has been really good in school so we decided to upgrade her cell phone. It was funny because all the ones she really wanted were not in my price range (free-$30). Once she understood that, we were able to pick out one she really liked. The LG Shine. I tried to convince my husband to get one when it was time to upgrade but instead he went with the LG VU. Anyways, she picked the LG Shine in red and I must admit it is kind of cute. The front is a mirror until you push a button then it turns into your phone screen. It has everything that she wanted: phone needs to slide, a music player, a camera, a video camera and bluetooth. You can add movies to a memory card and she can watch them so that is pretty cool. She did not have this option with her other phone. Now I just have to convert some movies for her. Oh and ringtones. You know you’re not cool if you don’t have the latest song as a ringtone, lol. Luckily I have the software for all that. I will put it on my to do list.
