Ok, my car has been broken. My 2003 dependable Sunfire just one day decided it didn’t want to start up. I figured it was something minor so I didn’t worry about it. I starting driving our back up vehicle, our mini van. It needs some work too but it was driveable. Until lately. It has started leaking transmission fluid and the tires keep going flat. Let me tell you, I have learned the hard way that being married to someone that can fix anything usually means he hardly has time to fix any of our stuff. Any ways he takes the car to the shop and they say the engine is blown out! Something about a timing chain and a valve thingy. All I know is it needs a new engine and what can I do? So today I get in our van to go pick up the kids. I start driving down the street and I push the gas and the van doesn’t move. I am guessing it has something to do with all the transmission fluid that is all over our driveway. I try to call my husband at work. I call his cell phone at least 20 times with no answer. I even text him. I am freaking out because I am usually at the school before the bell rings waiting for the kids (i have a big fear of kidnappers and strangers). I finally call the main line at his job and the secretary tells me she is not sure if she can reach him because everyone is in some training class. Every single person, even the supervisors. I just burst into tears. Don’t ask me why, it is just one of those days. I try to explain to her that my kids are at school stranded and I need to reach my husband. She actually asks me what do I want him to do and does he have my number. Huh??? Finally I get her to understand that this is an emergency and she says she will try to get him. About 15 to 20 minutes later he calls me and says he is on the way up to the school. But guess what, they are not there! Nannah decides to take her brother and sister to her friend’s house. Someone I have never even met. She happens to call me and say “could you pick us up at so and so’s house”. First of all, who is so and so and why did you leave the school grounds? All kinds of stuff is running through my head. I don’t understand why she left the school at all. All of my kids know the rule is if I am late, go into the school and wait. Very simple. All of the what ifs are what really made my head hurt. I just had to sit and cry and get it all out. Now I feel better. So how was your day? :)

My kids love to play online as much as I do. I have been a fan of Sims of fans for years and have been on the constant search for a world that is similar but appropiate for my kids. Unfortunately some of the online worlds can cost as much as $60 and I am talking per child. Well, I don’t have to search any longer. Jumpstart has started a new 3D Virtual World and it is so much fun. You can create an avatar and explore the world. My kids love it! They have been able to play games, go to the movies, swim, adopt a pet and so much more. I even like playing it! Now you know I am just a big kid anyways! The best part is my kids are safe and they are learning. Membership is affordable. Only $7.99 a month. Can you believe that? Even if you just go with the free membership there are things to do. I am giving away a 3 month membership to JumpStart on my giveaway site. Click here to enter.

I used to cook alot. But that was before I had four kids. Now I am interested in meals that are quick and easy. Last year in December Southern Plate taught me how to make cookies. Christy has so many great recipes you can not help but try them. They are super easy. Today I made her One Dish Pork Chops and just had to write about how good they turned out. I made mine a little bit different and I was so scared it would be messed up. I made two pans of pork chops(there were not boneless but they were on sale). I used Minute Rice and two cans of cream of mushroom soup. One in each pan. We aren’t big fans of tomatoes so I did not use any. I cooked them for about 75 minutes. The pork chops were so tender they came off the bone when I was scooping them onto the plates. It was delicious! Kayla said she didn’t like her meat because it was too soft. She is just has to be different. It was a nice change since I usually fry my pork chops. If you have not tried anything from Southern Plate shame on you!! You are really missing out.

Over the past few day my husband and I were finally able to watch some movies from my netflix queue. Going out to the movies costs just way too much these days so Netflix is my best friend. The first movie we watched was Eagle Eye. I hoped it would be good and I was not disappointed. There were some great action scenes that held my attention. I like movies when computers try to take over. I am beginning to like Shia LaBeouf a little bit more every time I see him. I still remember when he was in Holes. It was a little strange for me to see Michael Chiklis not playing a character that I love to hate. He was in the Fantastic Four but I fell in love with his character “Vic Mackey” from The Shield. Billy Bob Thorton was also in there and he looked really worn out with all the gray hair. All in all it was a good movie that I would watch again.

The next two movies we watched were Saw 4 and 5. I like the Saw movies but they can get really graphic. I have been putting off watching them because I need to watch them with my husband so he can tell me when I can look, lol. As a fan of horror movies, the Saw movies are my favorite because you never know who will be “Jigsaw’s” next victim. In other movies where there are serial killers, they follow a pattern. They go after brunettes, students or young people on cross country trips. Jigsaw just goes after people who don’t appreciate their lives. 5 was better than 4. Mainly because a lot of questions are answered. You definitely can not watch this if you are eating. If you are a little squeamish like me, watch it with someone who can tell you when to look.
