Sometimes I feel like I don’t get the best out of entrecard. I used to be able to stop by at least 600 sites and drop my card but I have noticed that number is dropping. Why? Because I am staying longer because I come across such cool and interesting stuff.
At Save Your Money Momma, she writes about this site called CheckAppointments.com. It is free online scheduling software. Who doesn’t love free? Save Your Money Momma has a great idea about using it for keeping track of review, giveaways and all the things you kids have to do. I am going to sign up and give it a try.
I have noticed I am seeing a lot of ads on Entrecard for yellow teeth or the stroller depot. I think they are buying a lot of paid ads. I have seen more of those two sites then regular blogs.
As if I don’t already have enough video games and systems, Momspective Reviews reminded me how cool it would be to get the a DS bundle for Mother’s Day. In green. Or better yet the new Dsi. That would really be nice. *hint, hint*
Over at Wii Mommies I found out I did not win the EA Sports Active
But congratulations to the winner! I have the worst luck with game giveaways. I never win those.
At Mommy Daddy Blog there is the cutest video of baby Jayden who just turned 1!! You have to watch the video he is just too adorable eating his cake.
Tomorrow Jazz is going on her first camping trip. She is on the student council and they get to go on a three day camping trip. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to go but I thought she should. I want her to try new things. But I am so nervous. I have never been camping. I think I have watched one too many horror movies. All I can think about is Friday the 13th!! I’m just weird like that sometimes. I just want her to be safe and have fun. She is excited about trying archery and canoeing. Is canoeing a word? That doesn’t even look right. Well, anyways we went out in the pouring raining to get everything she needs. Luckily I don’t have to buy a sleeping bag because my dad has one brand new in the box. She wants to take her cell phone but I am leaning towards keeping it here at home. I don’t want her to lose it or anything. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for her trip. It was just 80 degrees a day or so ago and now it has just been raining and raining.
Let’s see, with the rising costs of um everything, I am constantly searching for even more ways to save money. These are some suggestions my husband has come across that I would love to share.
- When you call to make a appointment, ask for an estimate of what the costs may be for your visit.
- If certain charges are not covered by insurance, ask for a discount. You will be surprised at how many doctors will actually work with you. I used to work for one.
- Explain to your doctor if prescriptions cost too much for you, he/she may have samples. All you have to do is ask.
- Ask what procedures may be performed during your visit. Then double check with your insurance company to see if those procedures are covered.
- Some insurance companies have “nurse lines”. Call the nurse and discuss whether you need to go to the doctor or not. I have started using ours. We have had it for years, I never paid it much attention.
- If you need to see a doctor right away, but it is not life threatening, consider going to urgent care instead of the emergency room. Most times urgent care will be cheaper, especially if you have an emergency room co-pay.
- When you get prescriptions, make sure you ask about the generics as a option. I have been doing this for the last few months and it makes a huge difference!
- Usually insurance plans cover annual physicals. Make sure to keep up them. Preventive care can save you tons!!
- Keep in mind where you get your prescriptions. Places like Walmart offer a majority of prescriptions as low as $4 !!
If you have any suggestions, please share. I love tips on saving money!
