The big day is finally here! Today is the official launch of My Secret Circle. Are you wondering what My Secret Circle is? It is the first ever secure social networking world designed especiallly for girls ages 8-12. My 11 year old has desperately wanted to be on MySpace and Facebook but let’s be real. Those places are not safe for young kids. I do not like the idea of strangers having access to my kids like that. But I do understand the need for Nannah to want to design a page, talk with her friends, upload pictures and stuff like that. Social media is everywhere so it makes sense that our children want to be a part of it too. This is where My Secret Circle comes in. Your daughter is able to create a “circle” of friends to communicate online with. Your daughter will be able to write in a journal, upload pictures and create albums. They can even create slideshows to share with their friends in their circle. I think this is a great idea and very much needed. My 11 year old wants to chat and play games with her friends online and I want to keep her safe.
