It is getting cold so we need to start getting the house ready for winter. Thought I would share a few of the things we do to get ready. Plus I want to remind my husband, lol. This is kind of my virtual honey do list.
- Take screen off the door and put up the storm window
- Put away the water hose, turn off the water in the house
- Put plastic on windows
- Put away patio set, grill and outdoor tools
- Make sure the snow blower is in working condition
- Check all outlet for form inserts ( keep the breezes out)
- Make sure filter on furnace is clean
- Check all the gutters
- Look for cracks everywhere. The windows frames, outlets, pipes and caulk as needed!
- Rake leaves and winterize lawn
- Check to make sure we have shovels
- Put ice scrapers in all vehicles
- Put out mats by all the doors to hold wet shoes and boots
- Buy bags of ice-melt
- Change batteries in all smoke detectors
