A Truly Wonderful Christmas

logo

Ok, y’all I really had to get my thoughts together before I wrote this post. I think naturally I am a person who keeps everything in. Maybe I am scared of rejection or not being liked or accepted. Whatever the reason I tend to just keep everything in and think. A lot. But this year I have been trying to step out of my “box”. I try to go out a little more and socialize. It is still kind of new, especially with family. Even more so with my in-laws. Not because I don’t love them but because I don’t ever want to disappoint them. Ok now I have started crying so bear with me, lol.  My sister and brother in law, nephew, niece, mother and father in law mean the world to me and I don’t think I could have married into a better family. They accept me for who I am throughout all of my little quirks and never judge me.

Well on Christmas Eve my sister in law’s house caught on fire and they lost everything. My niece’s birthday was just the day before. When we got the call about the fire my heart dropped out of my chest. My first thought was “is everyone ok? Please God let everyone be safe”. I am so happy that they were able to make it out. I don’t think I can ever fully express the joy in my heart. They have lost everything they owned but they are ok. I was so happy to see them on Christmas Day I felt like I could not talk to them enough and just look at them. I lived with my sister in a law wow almost 17 years ago and she is one of the most loving and strongest personI know. I admire her so much and it hurts my heart so much that she is going through this. I am just so glad they are ok and I love them all so very, very much. This Christmas was truly wonderful because my family is safe.

  1. That is SO scary! :( I hate that happened to them, but also thankful that everyone is ok!

My niece’s birthday is also on 12/23 :) She turned 15.

My step sons house burned down I believe 6 days before Christmas back in 2006. That’s always so terrifying. They weren’t home at the time – it was during the day…

Glad you got to spend time with your family on Christmas! We weren’t able to go home this year, but we had a great Christmas here, just the 7 of us…

I’m sorry to hear that they lost everything in the fire, but am glad to hear they’re all okay. It will take time to rebuild, but at least they have loving family.

Happy New Year… and I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
