Last week I was able to find a laptop on sale at Best Buy. I am learning how use it and loving how fast it is going. Even Internet Explorer is going fast (don’t worry, I have installed Google Chrome too). Before I start adding my software and stuff like that I explore the computer. I installed my anti virus software and everything is going good. Microsoft wanted to do a update. Then another and another. Next thing I know my computer slowed down dramatically. I mean so slow, it pretty much brought any working I was doing to a stop. I sat here and tried to figure what could have happened. The only thing I did was the three Microsoft updates. So I decided to do a system restore to before I did the updates and guess what? No more lagging.
This got me to wondering, just how many of us are doing the updates.

I’ve learned to a few updates but I do ignore them if I don’t know what its for. I’ve not done Internet explorer & adobe and wasn’t able to go on line and wasn’t able to add my pics to my blog. Good you found out what was wrong.
As much as I hate sitting through all the MSupdates when I have a fresh Windows install, not doing them is usually equivalent to inviting people to exploit the security holes in Windows. I missed one by two whole days and ended up with a trojan in one of my rootkits (and yes I use a firewall and yes I use anti-virus).
thanks for stopping by today. I always update. When we upgraded I had an issue with no sound. so the update fixed that.

I need a new computer too. I don’t like the updates, one update too away a feature I loved, and after that, I refused to update it again (and don’t know how to get that feature back).
