My kids love the opportunity to talk with children their own age. Someone who shares the same interests as they do. Tomorrow, A Child Writes launches. It is online community which will match your children up with other kids so they can be penpals in a safe environment while making a difference.
What makes A Child Writes different from other communities is thier monthy feature. Each month a cause will be featured. During that month, the members can color pictures or make crafts to send to people affected by that cause or charity. I think this is a great way to teach kids to think about others and give of themselves. Parents will get the opportunity to learn more about the featured cause of the month in the Parent Resource Area. The featured cause for April will be Autism Awareness.
A Child Writes will also host moderated online parties that will be on a certain topic. There will be games and prizes for kids to win in their age groups. I love that fact that no chat will ever be not moderated. Safety first!
For participating in the community and sending artwork or crafts, each month your child will be entered into a contest. 3 winners that will win a prize. For April one grand prize winner will receieve: Noah’s Ark Animal Workshop Party in a Box for 6 (Includes: 6 pre-selected animals, stuffing, wishing stars and custom made A Child Writes™ t-shirts for the animals). The two runner up winners will receive one pre-selected animal, stuffing, wishing star and custom made A Child Writes™ t-shirt for their animal. Read more here.

ACW is going to be so much fun for kids, and a great educational experience for the whole family. Teaching kids about the causes and charities, and encouraging them to do things for other is so important. ACW is going to make this easier for parents and teachers by offering those resources. Very exciting!!

This is so cool. My son will be great for this. He’s 9 and we’re going through some challenges. I think this will be very motivating for all of us. Thanks for allowing me to be the Blog of the Month.
