I deserve some high fives for my recent dinner time wins last week. I actually was able to make a couple meals that all the kids liked! This is pretty big because no one complained at all and that does not happen very often, lol.
For one meal I made corned beef in the slow cooker. It was my first time ever cooking. I thought it would be hard but it was so easy. All I had to do is put it the corned beef in the slow cooker and look it cook all day. It was already seasoned. It came with some extra seasoning which I thought I was supposed to add. After tasting it I realized that it would have been fine without. The corned beef was so good. The kids could not get enough. I think I will be making more of this!! My husband was really happy because he loves corned beef.
I used the slow cooker again to make some smoked neckbones. Talk about flavorful. All I can do is just shake my head. The meat was juicy and just falling off the bone. I made some biscuits, great northern beans, baked mac and cheese, greens and corn on the cob with it. Now this was my first time making smoked neckbones too. I usually would make regular neckbones in a pot but when I went to the store there were none so I grabbed the smoked ones. It was pretty funny because the kids kept asking me what it was and making this strange face when I said neckbones. But once they tried it, they loved it!!!! I don’t know how to clean greens so I buy the ones from Glory Foods. Their northern beans were really good too. They tasted very close to what my grandma used to make when I was little.

Girl! I love my crockpot (slow cooker). I make Chili, Soup, Taco meat, Corn beef, beans, Oxtail soup,Chicken Noddle and even ribs. Anything that I’m afraid will turn out tough, I put in the crockpot. It makes is so convenient. When I was working outside the home, I’ll put my dinner on in the morning & when I come home it’s done. I ‘ll only add the sides. You’re gonna get hooked. lol
