More Paint Talk

Well I finally managed to grab my camera and get a picture of the paint color Kayla picked out. This is so much better than the dark plum that was on the walls before.

I absolutely hate the dark stain on the door, my plan is to paint it white.

Thanks to Rose Knows Coupons, I signed up for a Valspar Paint sample. Everyday for 1oo days, they are giving away a free sample.  Less than a week later, Fed-Ex delivered my sample.  I let Kayla pick the color, here is what came in the package:

Not a bad freebie huh? She wants to paint this color on the wooden seat by her window. It should dry more purple even though it looks pink in the picture.

My husband went and picked up her mattress last week. I still can not get over the fact that you can get them rolled up now.

I ordered her this comforter set.

In true Mommy Brain fashion, I did not read the information correctly and this was not a comforter set. It is a comforter cover set. This explains why it was only $14. You are supposed to put your comforter inside of this cover. It does not work though. The comforter bunches all up and does not stay in place. So I went to Walmart tonight, grabbed a real comforter set and grabbed the wrong size! I am definitely having one of those days, lol.

Nice color! The mattress is rolled up!? I’ve never heard of that. So, is the comforter cover the same as a duvet cover? I like duvet because you can just use your old comforter for it.

Yep a rolled up matteress, isn’t that cool? I never used a duvet before. How do you keep the comforter from moving all around?

  3. that will look great with that bedding! Very bright and cheery.

  4. How fun . . . I’m procrastinating on a similar project. SUPPOSED to be getting my daughter’s “big girl” room together . . haven’t done a THING.

  5. LOL, you’re quite a jumbled lady this week! It’s all going to be really cute when it’s done!

Duvets are actually great – you can clip the comforters into the cover in the corners with special clips or use binder clips too! I love that you only need to wash the top cover then.

That being said, the comforter that you chose from Walmart….EXACT same one on my daughters bed right now!! LOL! we got it in 2009 when we did a room maker with Walmart – I’m surprised they still sell it! There are so many affordable accessories to go with it too.

That is so funny. When Kayla was looking for comforters it had to have blue and purple in it. This one is perfect!

  11. thanks for stopping by my blog. I LOVE the paint color, it will look good with bedding. We have the dark stained trim as well in our house, changing it is such a daunting task, I am going to try to make it work. :-)
