If there is one thing I like to talk about other than video games it is movies. I had a pretty big collection. I say had because in my quest of decluttering my house, I gave away a lot of my movies. It was hard because I love my movies. I take it beyond serious if I let you borrow and a few. You get one chance. If you don’t return my movies or if I have to go looking for you, don’t bother asking me again. It takes a while to get back on my borrow list, my cousins and brother know
Well my first step to decluttering was to tackle my VHS movies.

You heard me right I said VHS, lol. At least it’s not Beta tapes. I had a nice collection because I used to work at two video stores as a manager and bought a lot of movies. Like I said I finally decided to get rid of them so I dug them all out.
I even found some of the VHS tapes I used to record movies on. I didn’t even know I still had them.
I still have not touched the collection of kid movies yet. They are down in the rec room and I forgot about them. They are next on my list. I really got into the cleaning mood because I even gave my friend a lot of dvd movies. I made deciding what to keep pretty easy. If I had not watched the dvd in over a two years it could go. The best part is I don’t even miss them and I happy that someone else can enjoy them!

woot – getting rid of stuff is liberating isn’t it? I just purged a bunch of movies in January too – we still had a bunch of VHS tapes – but don’t even have a VCR anymore so I got rid of them!
OK. I thought I had a lot of movies OMG! That is crazy!

I have a huge movie collection too but very very few dvds for me. Mostly kids movies on dvd. I got rid of a TON of my vhs when we moved 7 years ago. but I still probably have at least 50-80 and will be giving those to the church rummage sale this year. with an increasing dvd and video game collection and never watching them anyway, its time to let them go

I am not good with decluttering…I need to be better about it. I can’t get rid of any of my books and everyone in my family knows that I am the “keeper of family pictures” – I have boxes everywhere. Sigh.

Wow, that’s a whole lot of movies!! We just went through ours the other day and we don’t have even 1/3 of what you have. Then again, I really don’t like movies much (I know I’m insane). I don’t think we have purchased any movies in at least 3 years. I am BIG on decluttering!

I got rid of all my (well almost all) VHS movies and replaced them with DVD but now I have a zillion DVD’s but at least they take up less space. I threw all the DVD cases away and put all the movies in 3 ring binders.

I have a huge cupboard full of movies that I need to sort out. I think it’s time for most of the VHS tapes to find new homes.
