Last week was the premiere of MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals. I could not wait to set my dvr. You see for the shows I really want to see, I set my dvr because I don’t want to watch any commercials. Since I don’t watch Real World anymore, I am always looking forward to the challenges. I am a huge fan it is nice to see some of my favorite players from earlier seasons and what they doing now.
This season of The Challenge: Rivals did something different. Usually the cast is broken up into various groups:
This season is all about the drama because every person will be a on team with their rival. Some of the teams were obvious:
When it came to C.T. I was not sure who was his rival. It could be Adam. Who can forget the fight those two had during the Duel 2? It could even be Davis. Remember when C.T. asked Davis if he could take a punch? C.T. punched Davis and then went to sleep. He was very drunk both times. It turns out that C.T. and Adam are partners. I hope it works out. I like C.T. He is like the underdog and reminds me so much of Derrick. When Derrick first started doing this challenges he used to drink and fight a lot too. He finally got it under control.
C.T told Adam that his brother was murdered and he was shot in the back. It seems like this has woken him up and he realized his anger was getting the best of him. We will see. It would be great to C. T. not being asked to leave because of fighting. I really want to see him compete.
I was completely surprised to see the rookies dominate the first challenge for both the boys and girls. It is something I don’t think anybody expected. I think the minute those rookies don’t place first in a challenge, everyone is going to vote them into “The Jungle”. I can already see Wes and Kenny behind it.
There was a fight it was refreshing to see that it was C.T. It turned out one of the rookies, Adam, was no match for Ty’s drunken behavior and was reeled right in. Ty likes to push people’s button and get them so upset that they want to punch him. This is part of strategy and Adam feel for it. We all know the rules, you put your hands on someone else, you go home. Game over. This was a waste of a win. If I am on a show trying to win hundreds of thousands of dollars, there is nothing anyone could say to me that would make me risk losing it all.
Anessa and Robin getting voted into The Jungle did not make me very happy. Anessa has always had to prove herself during these challenges and it did not seem fair. It was just too early. To put them up against Evelyn and Paula was wrong. Laurel would have been a perfect match against Evelyn and I think she was just scared. I don’t get why everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon instead of just voting for Laurel. Are they afraid of her or something?
Unfortunately Anessa and Robin could not last in The Jungle and were defeated by Evelyn and Paula. It was close but I had feeling Evelyn and Paula would hold out just a little bit longer.
Next week will be the guys turn to go into the Jungle. I can’t wait to see who ends up in there, I know it will be interesting.
