I see everywhere on social media. Someone is losing important files and documents along with priceless photos because something went wrong with their computer. I have had it happen to me quite a few times before.
After each loss, I promised myself I will get on a schedule of weekly backups. Usually this meant using the restore feature on my computer or saving a backup of my pictures and files on my external hard drive.
I didn’t keep my promise.
For one reason or another I would forget or did not feel like finding my hard drive, hooking it up and copying the files. I mean I do have more than 3 hard drives and I don’t know where all the cords are.
Then I was asked to review Acronis True Image 2014. I looked over the features and noticed I could back up to the cloud. I could even schedule backups. I just had to give it a try.
I installed the software easily and this screen appeared:
I choose to back up to cloud and that is exactly what it did. I scheduled backups for Thursdays and I don’t notice when it is happening. This might just work for me!
I even took it one step further and installed the True Image app on my tablets. Since everything is uploaded to the Acronis Cloud I can access my files no matter what device I am on.
I am stilling exploring Acronis True Image 2014. This is more than just backup software:
- image mounting
- back up conversion
- file shredder
- transfer backups to another computer
- clone disk
