No matter where you look in my home you will finds books. What can I say, I simply love to read!
I don’t know any woman who is not juggling more than a few things at any given time. It could be juggling school, your own business and family or even your professional and personal life. Something is always going on and I wear lots of different hats. Anything that can help make this easier I welcome with open arms. Who doesn’t want to make the best use of their time?
The EveryGirl’s Guide to Life shares Maria’s own life experiences, philosophies and techniques. Some of them her own, others she picked up on her journey of life. This is an all in one book that is full of easy tips to help make your life easier. The main topics covered in this book include: The EveryGirl Foundation, EveryGirl Has Style, EveryGirl Emotional Foundation, Health and the EveryGirl and EveryGirl and Business.
I like this book because anyone can relate to it, wherever they are in life. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out, in high school or retired. There is something that will apply to everyone. You will find fashion and beauty tips, recipes, fitness tips and routines. A little bit of everything.
A part of the book that I really enjoyed were the EveryGirl Mottos. My favorites are:
- Have a diverse set of friends from all sorts of backgrounds. They will help you grow
- Do the best with what you have
- Base decisions on worst-case scenarios; hope for the best but plan for the worst
In the section The EveryGirl Office, I read about having a black book. This book should include all of your important information, easily accessible in one place. I don’t have one but I know I need to make one, especially in the event of a emergency or when I need my husband to help me out with something. There is guide to help you make your own.
There are EveryGirl Tips throughout the book including on the sides of most of the pages. I never thought of this one, when traveling, ask the hotel concierge to clear out the minibar. You won’t be tempted to spend money and you store your own fruit and water in the fridge. I am doing this the next time I go on a trip!
I enjoyed reading this book, not only is it a good read, but something I can see myself referring back to.
