Family Movie Night With The Secret Life Of Pets and a Giveaway!

This post is in partnership with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment

I know I am not the only person who has wondered what your pets do when you’re not home. Our dog Scottie finds a way to get into everything when are gone. I just imagine him running in and out of rooms, jumping on the couch or bed and messing with stuff he know he is not allowed to touch.

From the humans behind Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets is a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. The DVD and Blu-ray are available in stores everywhere now.

The Secret Life of Pets has an all-star voice cast including Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan and Albert Brooks.

We received the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack Target Exclusive featuring 4 pages of decals.

The combo pack comes with the Blu-ray, DVD, and a Digital copy. Plus, you can decorate your room, car, office, laptop, or wall with 4 pages of decals featuring main characters and their funny personalities.

Since we love Family Movie Night, I got the family together to watch The Secret Life of Pets.

home theater signMovie night is not complete unless you have snacks. So we had some popcorn and treats. We found some The Secret Life of Pets fruit snacks along with the cutest stuffed animals at Target.

This new release features nearly an hour of bonus content, including three hilarious mini-movies: the all-new Norman Television and Weenie plus Mower Minions which debuted in theaters. I love the Minions and I am happy that they had a mini movie. My family enjoys watching all the extra bonus content and there are some great bonuses included with The Secret Life of Pets.  The Hotdog Singalong with Max and Duke is cute and catchy. I can’t get it out of my head. I also liked the musical mash up of Snowball’s one-liners.

I can definitely see this movie becoming a family favorite. It is fun to see life from the perspective of your pet. We laughed all throughout the movie.  It was so cute how Max looked at his relationship with Katie as them being soul mates, truly best friends. I always tell the kids to never forget about our dog Scottie. We see so much more of the world then he does but we are his world. All of the pets are funny but I think Snowball was the funniest. He was all about the struggle and liberating animals. Kevin Hart did a great job as the voice of Snowball.

We don’t have pets right now. Our guinea pigs passed away over a year ago and we haven’t gotten anything yet. My kids are big pet fans though and we volunteer at the local humane society. I know my daughter would love this movie.

We live in a proverbial zoo. Three Treeing Walker Coonhounds and three cats (all rescues), and I’d have a dozen of each if I could! (We actually used to have five dogs and three cats, lost two of the dogs – one to a medical issue and the other to age, and one cat to age, but then I found a two-week-old feral kitten who I bottle fed and is now a member of the family.) I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and all three of my daughters are animal lovers, too. I haven’t seen this movie yet, but have been wanting to. I’d love to curl up with my furbabies and watch it with them.
