Deciding where to go. Sometimes a place has great food and little else. Is the background music unbearable? Is it worth the drive and gas?
Getting everyone together. The people you invite all have different schedules. You want to make it easy for everyone to get together at one time.
Budget. How much is food? How much are drinks? That is an important one. Drinks can be expensive. At some places the drinks cost just as much as the food!! A fun night out can definitely not be budget friendly.
See this is when you can consider having a Night In!! You can throw a small get together at home without a lot of fuss. No kidding! I did it. I was recently given the opportunity to host my very own “Night In” party courtesy of T.G.I. Friday’s and Essence Magazine. I decided to throw a small get together with family. I like things simple and that is exactly what it was.
I made most of the food. Loaded baked potatoes, egg and broccoli cheese quiches ,meatballs wrapped with bacon, cream cheese and bacon croissants, barbecue cups (ground beef and cheese) Louisiana crunch cake, strawberry swirled cheesecake and cookies. When it came to the drinks, I went to the store to grab some of T.G.I. Fridays Ready to Serve Cocktails and ice. That had to be the easiest part. I like cocktails but have no idea how to mix them up so they taste good. T.G.I. Fridays Ready to Serve Cocktails come in over 16 different flavors which include:
- Pina Colada
- Mud Slide
- Long Island Ice Tea
- Strawberry Daqauri
- Mai Tai
- Passion Mojito
- Censored on the Beach
- Hawaiian Volcano
- Peach Tea
- Orange Dream
They already have the right mixture of alcohol included in it so I did not have to worry about a thing!! I really like how clearly the bottle are labeled. I had no problem seeing exactly what each drink had in it. I usually tend to like to have a Margarita or Long Island Iced Tea whenever I go out. Those were the first two I tried. I was not disappointed at all! I made sure to have some margarita salt and limes on hand too. The Censored on the Beach was a big hit as well as the Passion Mojito. Censored on the Beach has Peach Snapps, cranberry juice and vodka in it. I love the sweet flavor of it! It may be a new favorite of mine. Passion Mojito has mango, passion fruit, rum and mint in it. Both tasted very good over ice. The Mai Tai was a little strong, you could definitely taste the rum in it.
The T.G.I. Friday’s Ready to Serve Cocktails are reasonably priced too. Only $5.49 a bottle and that will make about four 6 ounce drinks! With the nice selection of flavors that they offered, it is easy to get something that everyone will enjoy.
We had a wonderful time at the party. Old school music playing in the background, good food, tons of laughters and smiles and great drinks. It was relaxing and comfortable. I have decided I want to make this more of a regular thing. It was really nice to get together and have some fun without the kids. The next get together I am planning is a game night. I love games and think it will be a lot of fun and of course I will have some T.G.I. Friday’s Cocktails there.
