How was your holiday?

My holidayI have to admit it did not go anything like I planned, lol. Let’s see after trying out some Wilton Candy Molds I snagged at Micheal’s for $5 (you know I had to use a 50% off coupon) My throat started to hurt and feel scratchy. I did not think anymore about it and took a few Luden’s throat drops. Next thing I know my chest was hurting, I could breathe, had the chills and could not stop coughing. It was so bad I was stuck in the bed for a least 4 days. This meant:

  • Not being able to cook. My husband grabbed some food from Applebee’s and reheated it on Christmas Day. The kids loved it! They thought it was a nice change. But I still owe them some mac and cheese, dressing and sweet potato pie. They all made sure I understood that, lol.
  • Last minute wrapping. My plan was to have everything wrapped before Christmas. I am lucky the kids got the tree and decorations up!
  • Was not able to do all the activities we planned. I was supposed to make a bunch of food to take by my sister in law’s for Christmas Brunch. I was really looking forward to that! She made lots of bacon too. I wanted to go to Candy Cane Lane to look at lights. I love Christmas lights even more than fireworks. Baking and crafts with the kids did not get done either. We did decorate cookies and made candy though.
  • Christmas Eve games. Each year I give the kids a special gift that can be opened on Christmas Eve.  It usually something that can be done as a family. This year I gave them games. Jenga, Battleship, Guess Who, Would You Rather and Connect 4 Build It. They played together but I missed out 🙁

Everyone was really happy though. The kids actually kept all the arguing to a minimum. There were lot of laughing and sounds of fun throughout the house. When my children get to playing, it sounds like there are way more than just four, lol. They all were playing with each other gifts, running around and being kids. I was really worried that I had spoiled everyone’s Christmas. I am glad I didn’t.

My husband surprised me with a very special gift. A new camera! I was speechless.

You know what this means right? Lots and lots more pictures. I miss taking pictures. My point and shoot cameras were just not working out for me. I am actually not speaking to my red Samsung right now because she acted a fool when I tried to take pictures of my nephew on his birthday. She would a picture and freeze or shut off. I am loving my new camera already. The pictures come out so much more crisp. I have already taken around 555 pictures!! I am so excited about learning how to use it. I was thinking about joining a photo meme or something.

So, how was your holiday?

Oh you poor thing. We are dealing with that right now and it started with sore throat, yuck. My boy had it the week leading up to Christmas now he is in the draining stage, and my ballerina woke up two days after Christmas with a super sore throat.. As bad as that is it is hard when Mommy gets sick. Are you feeling better?

What a nice Christmas present and it is a REBEL… I’ll admit I am a little jealous, that is what I want, but have to wait till February.. Please tell us how you like it.
