In The Garden of Happiness Book Review And Giveaway

This year I want to limit the negativity around me. I figured a great way to begin is to start focusing on the good.

Fortunately, a month ago I was sent a copy of “In The Garden of Happiness” by Dodinsky to review.

This book is full of positivity, which is what I need and want in my life. This book was not written to be read from cover to cover. Each page holds inspirational and uplifting words that make you think.

“If you are unsure of your purpose, fill your days with moments that bring joy to your life, even the silliest of smallest of things.”

This quote caught my attention because I can relate to it. Some days I feel unsure of myself and not clear on what to do. The to-do list seems never ending, I feel horrible because I can not think of anything for dinner and it seems like my days are full of things that make everyone else happy.

I want to do things just for me without feeling guilty. I am not even talking big things like spa days or going out to dinner. I just want a few moments. A moment to enjoy a cup of mocha while watching an obviously scripted reality show and laughing. Uninterrupted.

“When you’re feeling tired of being miserable and it’s breaking you down, don’t ever fold. You owe it to yourself to TRY to become the best person you can be. There are days when all you can do is just try.”

That right there is speaking so much truth to me. I want to be the best I can be. Even when others don’t see.

One of my goals for 2015 is learning how to deal with stress and happiness is something I strive for. That can be hard, especially for me since I have severe depression. But I still want it. There are days where everything I see, hear or read is filled with such sadness.

I am happy that I was given the opportunity to read this book. Some of the words written are things I want to hear. I enjoy reading books that are uplifting and this one did not disappoint me. I am looking forward to more happiness in 2015.

In The Garden of Happiness is now available for purchase. Please visit Barnes and Noble, BooksAMillion and Amazon to buy a copy of your own.

I purchased In the Garen oft Thoughts for myself and others previously.. As I reflected on each thought, it helped me to be encouraged and mature at a time I was ready to.. I’ve shared it with numerous others, whether they were in my presence or by me posting attributes from the book online (happily giving credit to Dodinsky)! As I greatly anticipated the release of The Garden of Happiness, I, a single parent with 4 children, lost my job (12-18-14) in a Human Service field where I medically supported mentally and/or physically handicapped adults, my passion in life, due to speaking up for the truth, that some of the people supported were being neglected, as kindly and compassionately as possible. Because it exposed the company’s hierarchy, I was terminated. Granted I can sleep at night, and the peace I feel is nothing to be bawked at, I am currently without an income, and cannot afford this much awaited book, at this time. Even if you do not pick me to receive a free copy, no worries, I will buy it the first moment I can 🙂 which will be soon because because you can’t keep a ‘good one down’ 🙂 Best of thoughts to all!! ~Valora

I to strive for happiness every moment I can. I have always been a pretty positive person, but always have that feeling that there is a happiness out there far beyond what I have achieved. I will get there someday.
