Rigoni di Asiago Dolcedì Sweetener Review and Giveaway

My daughter Kayla, is always reading food labels. She likes to eat and prepare healthy food. She is definitely more aware of what she is eating than I was when I was 13. Slowly we are eating more and more food that is organic. It tastes better.

Sugar used to be my main way of sweetening food and drinks. I used to buy it a lot but I have gotten to the point where I rarely buy it anymore. The weird thing is it’s not a big deal as I thought it would be. We just use other things to sweeten our food.

I was recently sent some Rigoni di Asiago Dolcedì Sweetener to try. I was interested in trying it because it is made from 100% organic apples. That is definitely different!

Rigoni di Asiago Dolcedì Sweetener is organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, and STAR-KOSHER. It has 25% less calories than regular sugar.

Since we love to drink smoothies, I decided to make a Strawberry Banana one using Rigoni di Asiago Dolcedì Sweetener instead of honey.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie recipe

I did not tell anyone that I used something different in my recipe. I wanted to be sure to get their honest reaction. Everyone pretty much loved it. I have to agree with them, the smoothie tasted very good. It still tasted sweet and I did not feel like it was missing anything. There was no aftertaste either!

We have also tried Rigoni di Asiago Dolcedì Sweetener in other foods. I tried it in my coffee and the kids have tried in their hot cocoa and oatmeal. We are definitely getting a lot of use out of it and reaching for it more often.

It is very easy to use in recipes that call for sugar because 1 teaspoon of sweetener is equal to 1 teaspoon of sugar.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 banana
6 frozen strawberries
1/2 cup 2% milk
1/3 cup plain yogurt
5-6 ice cubes
1 tablespoon Rigoni di Asiago Dolcedì Sweetener

Add all ingredients to a blend and puree until smooth. Serve immediately.

    We have also decided to replace almost all of our regular sugar with other sweeteners. One place I might use this one is in making fruit cobblers or toppings. I like to cook some fruit—usually berries– and mix that with granola for a weekend breakfast.
