My 15 year son, TJ, recently started his second year of high school. I can’t believe my baby is not a baby anymore and is a sophmore in high school. Last year he was pretty busy as a freshman. There was cross country, basketball, practicing for his drama club and hanging out with friends. His first year in high school went better than I expected. TJ made the transition from middle school easily and all my worrying was for nothing.
This year I expect him to be just a busy if not more. One of the things I worry about the most is not being able to stay in contact with TJ. Both us are will be pretty busy and it is very important that I am just a call away when he needs to reach me.
TJ had a very expensive cell phone last year that he lost. Somewhere between the bus ride home and walk from the bus stop the phone was lost. I could not replace it because a new phone was at least a few hundred dollars and not in my budget.
I don’t want to worry about how TJ will let me know if he has to stay after school for an activity, misses the bus or wants to hang out with friends after school. I headed to Walmart’s electronic department to check out their Family Mobile plans. The Walmart Family Mobile service is $29.88/month (for the first line) Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan which includes up to 1G of 4G LTE data. Now that is what I am talking about! That fits well within my budget.
I grabbed a Walmart Family Mobile Sim Starter kit for $25 and I went with the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. This phone has a 5″ HD display, 8MP rear facing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, voice commands and up to 17 hours of talk time on 3G. It also a Smart Manager that will help my son keep track of his battery life and how much time he has left on it. I don’t want to hear anything about he did not know his battery was going dead.
I was able to set up my service at home with no problem. I inserted the sim card and activated the phone and we were up and running. I set it up for him while he was at school and surprised him when he got home. In addition to a few of his favorite apps, I chose some educational apps too.
TJ is very happy to have a phone of his own again. He is able to stay in touch with his friends through calls and texts. I am happy because I was able to take advantage of Walmart’s Best Plans. The best part is if I want to add another phone to the line, it will only be $19.99 more.
With the help of Walmart Family Mobile I am able to stress less because when my son needs me I am just a call away.
I have shared with you how I’m just a phone call away from my son. Who will you need to connect with when heading back-to-school and how can Walmart Family Mobile help you? Leave a comment and let me know!
