jazzbdayWell my baby has turned 16. This is where all the crying starts, lol. I feel like I am saying this a lot lately but time is going by way too fast. I mean it seems like it was literally yesterday I was bring her home from the hospital. My little princess. It may sound unrealistic but at the point and time, I really could not even fathom that she would grow up. Maybe I was just praying I would not break her, lol.

The moment I saw her I knew. I knew I wanted better for her. I never wanted her to feel unwanted, not special, not important. She would never be a disappointment. I would encourage her to reach for her dreams and never give up. My first daughter will always know how beautiful and smart she is.

Throughout these 16 years she has grown into such a beautiful person. Inside and out. She is kind, creative, hard working, intelligent, caring and mine.

Happy Birthday Jazz I Love You more than you will ever know!

I decided to go with a small little get together with just the immediate family. The other kids were out of school so we spent all day decorating and cooking. This proved to be quite a challenge because my oven is broke and we used a small countertop oven. Hey you gotta learn how to improvise! It worked out great because made mini cheesecakes, cupcakes and cakes. We took a quick trip to Walmart and bought some cookies, salsa and chips, plus her favorite candy. Laffy Taffy :) While there we found the coolest Tinkerbell decorations. Jazz is one of the biggest Tinkerbell fans ever so I just had to grab it. I found a huge balloon and wall coverings for her. (The best part is she can re use the wall coverings to decorate her room!)

Came out pretty yummy considering: we filled the muffin pans, realized they would not fit in counter top oven and how to squeeze into a much smaller baking pan, lolCupcakes

It was a great day. It was not huge and fancy like the Sweet 16 parties you see on t.v. I am a stay at home mom with four kids and that is no where near my budget. But I can tell you this, it was full of love and laughs!

I want to give a big hug and thanks to my helpers. They helped blow up balloons, set up, decorate, cook, clean up and everything in between :)

Well today Jazz had a doctor’s appointment. She had a really bad rash on her neck, arm and face that needed to be looked at. She went to urgent care about two weeks ago and got a prescription that seems to working. But she still needed to follow up. I figured since she was going she might as well get her immunizations because in Wisconsin the requirements changed. I can’t remember what the old requirements were but these are the new ones.

If your child is going into K-5
: Your child will need two doses of varicella (chicken pox vaccine) before the start of school in September 2008.

If your child is going into 6th grade: Your child will need two doses of varicella and 1 dose of TDap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine (unless the child has had a tetanus shot within the last 5 years) before the start of school in September 2008.

If your child is going into 9th grade
: Your child will need 1 dose of TDap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine (unless the child has had a tetanus shot within the last 5 years) before the start of school in September 2008.

If your child is going into 12th grade: Your child will need 2 doses of varicella and 1 dose of TDap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine (unless they have had a tetanus shot within the last 5 years) before the start of school in September 2008.

Her doctor brought up her shot record and it turns out one of her Hepatitis B shots was considered not valid. Jazz was supposed to get 3 Hepatitis B shots but her second one did not count. Why you ask? Because the earliest date that she could get the shot was 11/25/1994. Her doctor gave her the second shot on 04/19/1994. This does not make sense to me. I was barely 20 at the time and I was doing what the doctors told me.Shouldn’t they know what they are doing? So how did this happen? I stopped going to that doctor about 8 or 9 years ago but now I think I need to just double check all of the kid’s health records. Just to be on the safe side.

Nonetheless Jazz was not too happy. She thought she was going to get her rash looked at and she ended up getting two shots.

Let’s see in the last few months she has wanted: her hair cut like Rhianna, a boyfriend, highlights in her hair,a boyfriend, a third hole in her ear, a boyfriend, coach shoes and weave in her hair. And I am pretty much the meanest mom in the world because I said no to all. Boy I am glad I have thick skin, lol.

My first born. So smart. So beautiful. So out of her mind. She showed me these sneakers from Coach (yes, she has expensive taste!) The brown ones are $108 and the blue/green ones are $198
She does not understand why I keep laughing. You just gotta love her. She honestly thought she could have these shoes!
