One of the Best Buy stores near my home is closing and tonight after dinner my husband and I decided to stop by. The store closes officially March 21st. I am so glad we did! You I I love video games and they were all on clearance for 50% off. I felt all giddy with excitement

There were games for Wii, Xbox 360, PSP, PS3 and Nintendo DS. I don’t have and Xbox 360 or PS3 so I went straight to the Wii and DS games. It was a lot to choose fromand I wanted them all. 50% offi is a really good deal.  I finally settled on:

I think I did pretty well. Kayla loves Club Penguin so she happy to get this. She played for a long time. My Do it All is cute. There is a personalized calender, calculator, voice changer, sound effects, notes, world map, crazy eights and more. I am going to play Guinness World Records later tonight, I have wanted this game for awhile.

I am planning to check back at Best Buy Saturday or Sunday Monday. Maybe whatever is left will be marked down even more! I would love to get a few more Wii games.

I have slipped up a little with my money saving efforts. Sometimes I forget about the all the options that are available out there to use. So I am going to give Ebates a try. I have read about a few people using it and happy with it. I am thinking it would be a good way to save a little to put into my Christmas fund. You have to remember every cents counts!

Ebates works like this:

• You shop through their site and you earn cash back. It can be up to 25%. I have used it a few times with cash back at 5% and 7% so far. They are able to offer you cash back because the stores pay Ebates a commission. You don’t have to fill out any forms or anything like that.
• You get your cash back every three months. It has to be at least $5.01 or it will carry over to the next pay period. You can get paid through Paypal or check.

My laptop is acting up. You know the usual stuff, pretty much getting on my nerves and making blogging a big pain. So I have started to look at computers. I was thinking about a netbook. Something light and super portable. I finally found one that I like the color of and it felt comfortable  in my hands. But then I noticed it came with Windows 7 Starter. I am not all the familiar with Windows 7 . It took me a while to make the change to Vista. Anyways I am pretty sure I don’t want the starter version. Knowing myself, I will want to upgrade eventually so why not do it to begin with. But none of the notebooks came with Windows 7 Premium. That got me to thinking, maybe a netbook can not handle premium that is why it is not offered. But I really want a netbook, my husband says it my obsession with all things tiny and he may be a little right.

So we walked around Best Buy and my husband showed me two touch computers. One was a HP the other was a Gateway. The Gateway was about $300 cheaper. Side by side the HP picture seemed sharper, sounded great, and I like the way the keyboard looked. Of course I typed in my blog as well as many of my friends blogs to see how they looked. (Btw, all you of your sites looked great!!) I liked playing around on them and was almost convinced. Then I thought about how much use I would really get out of it. I love being able to move around and get on the computer in my office, at the library, in my bedroom, outside, wherever. I can’t do that with a touchscreen desktop, no matter how slim and cool it looks.

So back I go to look at the laptops and netbooks. Lifting each one up to see how light they are. Then I noticed that was a waste of time because none of the computers had their batteries attached!! So they will all weigh differently in the end.

Now I am at the point of asking myself what am I really looking for:

• longer battery life (2 hours is just not enough)
• dark color ( i rubbed the grey off my current mouse pad)
• lightweight ( current HP is very heavy when walking through airport)
• fast speed ( I usually have more than 3 programs up and hate when they lag)
• Windows Home Premium (99% sure)

I have been seeing this Asus brand around but not too sure about it. Right now a Toshiba Satellite Laptop is on the top of my list. Do you have any opinions or advice for me? I need to what you might be using and what you like or dislike about it. Help me out please!!!

A day late but that’s ok

I wanted a place to share stuff in a somewhat organized manner, lol so I welcome you to Saturday Sharing.

You know how much I love Netflix. Can’t live without them Well I was adding some new movies to my instant queue: The Color Purple, 11:14, Drop Dead Fred, Looney Tunes back in action, House Party 4 and Ghost Ship. I just noticed I have 434 movies in my instant queue! A lot, right? Anyways, guess what? Starting in spring you will be able to stream movies through your Wii! It is about time! This is going to be great for Wii owners. Just another little bonus in my opinion.

It is tax season!! I have been using TaxCut for about 13 or 14 years.  I noticed the name was changed to H & R Block at Home. Kind of caught me off guard. I had a problem a few years ago where the software made an error that cost me over $3000.I have not been able to forget that.  Now I am thinking it may be time for a change. What do you use?

Yesterday I went to Anna’s Linen to look at slipcovers. I can’t afford new furniture but I love my very worn sofa. I have had it for 11 years. I found a chocolate slipcover that I thought would look good. It looks just like the one below.

The sofa cover was on sale for $24.99 and $19.99 for the love seat. There are no chocolate colors on the site but they have some in the store. I wonder if they are closeouts? I really like the cover and design may work with hiding stains with all my kids while still looking nice.  The loveseat slip cover did not fit as great as the sofa one did but they are not furniture from the same set. My husband is just going to pin it up a little. I mean let’s keep it real, I have 2 couches and 1 love seat that do no match but serve a purpose. $19.99  is not a bad price to help my living room look a little put together, lol. Now I am waiting on drapes to go on sale, I missed the last sale
