Almost everywhere you look, this is on everyone’s mind. Mine included. There are tons of questions; who will get rebates, how much will you get, when will you get the rebate?

After searching on the web, I found an article at fox business. The article has information detailing what type of tax payers will actually qualify and why. There seems to be a base amount you can get and $300 for each additional child.

The bottom line is over 100 million families will get the tax rebate, if the bill becomes a law. If it does become law, checks will not be mailed until at least 60 days later.

I guess the big question is “do seniors qualify for the rebate too?” After searching the web, the anwer seems to be no. One representative went as far as to say “workers who did not pay taxes should not get a rebate”. He believes you should have contributed to taxes to get something back. Sadly, it looks like low-income seniors will not qualify for the rebate.

UPDATE: As of 2/18/08 this information has changed
