I remember seeing the previews for Devious Maids last year. I wanted to watch it but because of my DVR limitations I ended up missing the entire first season. My 20 year old, Jazz, watched it and constantly told me I need to see it.
From Executive Producer Marc Cherry, creator of Desperate Housewives, comes Devious Maids. Meet five women bonded together by their jobs, their dreams and the dirt they sweep under the rug: Aspiring singer Carmen; Rosie, who longs to be reunited with the child she left back in Mexico; Marisol, whose outward identity masks a desperate hidden agenda; and Zoila and her daughter Valentina – both employed by the delightfully unhinged Genevieve Delatour (Susan Lucci).
The first episode starts out with lots of drama and caught my attention. I like secrets and a mystery so I got comfortable to watch a few episodes. This is when ee are introduced to the “maids” and their employers. The employers are definitely some characters, Genevieve is needy, rich and hilarious. I hope to see more of her. Evelyn Powell (Rebecca Wisocky) is sneaky and mean. I like the maids but my favorite is Rosie. She is sweet and I like the way Rosie shows her boss, Peri, that she knows exactly what she is up too.
These ladies are not your average maids and this makes for an interesting show. I am on episode four I really like Devious Maids. It reminds me of a soap opera but in primetime with a little comedy mixed in. Between the all the secrets and lies I am hooked.
The DVD also includes bloppers, deleted and extended scenes.
