Walgreens rebate

Lately I have went full steam ahead on my quest to actively save money. One of the ways I plan to do this is by participating in rebate programs as well as using coupons. My last few trips to Walgreens have turned out pretty well.
On shopping trip #1: Total purchases $7.45
total savings $16.02
mail in rebate $3.00 (will be added to gift card)
used coupon for buy 1 get 1 free stayfree maxi pad, stayfree was on sale for buy 1 get 2nd 50% off. Only paid $3.74 for 2 –36 count packs of stayfree maxi pads.

On shopping trip #2 : Total purchases $14.55
total savings $28.15
mail in rebate $7.00 ( part will be added to gift card and part will be check)

On shopping trip #3: Total purchases $6.04
total savings $8.43

I love it when I save more than I spend!! But that is not the best part. I sat down this evening to write out my rebates and prepare them for the mail when I noticed that my Walgreens rebates needed to be postmarked today. My mouth dropped because the post office is closed because it is 9:15 at night. I looked around the Walgreens site and noticed that you could claim your rebates online!! All you need to do is register and have your receipt which has special numbers on the top that you enter online. It is that easy!! I wish I would have known about this sooner! I could have been taking advantage of all the free after rebates!! You are even able to check your status online which is pretty nice. The biggest plus is you can enter your reciepts online when you first make the purchase and Walgreens will even submit them for you at the end of the month. No more forgotten rebates!!!

I love a bargain! Love it. I am trying to get better about using coupons and I have gotten Walgreen’s rebates in the past.

I think once you get started and see how much money you can save with coupons, you may never shop again without them. I have even went as far as making a coupon book. But with everything “Moms” do already it can sometimes be hard to take that first step.
