St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. The Irish and Irish at heart love to find fun ways to celebrate. There are parades, parties and lots of green. This year parents can help their little ones join in on the fun while starting a new tradition with Silly McGilly. McGilly is a friendly leprechaun who enjoys playing funny tricks on children throughout the St. Patrick’s Day season.
We were sent the adorable Silly McGilly Book and Doll set to review. The book tells the story of McGilly and how the dolls works. Kids put the leprechaun in the window at night so McGilly will know he can visit. Each night he plays a trick. His last trick is played on St. Patrick’s Day.
The book includes a list of tricks McGilly can do:
- Turn food green
- Leave behind St. Patrick Day goodies
- Write funny notes or jokes
- Turn household items upside down
I think this is a fun way to bring a little magic to your home during the St. Patrick’s Day season. You can really get creative with it. The Silly McGilly website has printable worksheets to help with fun. There are mad libs, rhyming games, coloring pages, shamrocks to cut out.
Parents can decide the rules for Silly McGilly. He can come once a week or every night. Whatever works for your family. Just remember to read the story and set the doll by the window. The book is full of colorful pictures and the story rhymes which I think kids will enjoy. This St. Patrick’s Day tradition will make some great memories!
The set comes in a keepsake box that would be perfect to store it in until you are ready to bring it out each year.
You can grab your own Silly McGilly Book and Doll Set for $24.95 . If you just want to buy the Silly McGilly doll or need a replacement, it only costs $12.95
